Oberlo is a prominent dropshipping app with plans to shut down all operations in June 2022. Our previous Oberlo review spoke highly of the Shopify-exclusive dropshipping solution, but Shopify eventually purchase the app and made the decision to cease operations. Similar to many acquisitions in the tech space, Shopify seemed to have purchased Oberlo for several reasons, but primarily to offer a completely integrated dropshipping solution, while also combining the tech from Oberlo with tools they found more appealing.
After consideration, Shopify decided to utilize a third-party app called DSers as its primary dropshipping solution. We're not sure how much of the Oberlo tech was transferred over for the partnership, if at all, but one thing's certain: Oberlo is no more, and all previous Oberlo users must transfer over their accounts to DSers, or an alternative dropshipping app, in order to maintain some sort of dropshipping functionality.
